How to Curb Carbohydrate Cravings!

By Kim Beardsmore As a weight loss mentor it never ceases to amaze me how people inadvertently set themselves up for a huge snack attack mid afternoon. For many, the set up is so complete that it is almost impossible to control! The result is that people think they are weak-willed and lacking in discipline. Often the answer has little to do with character or determination. More often the reason for the mid afternoon carbohydrate cravings is due to gaps in understanding how our body works and responds to diferent types of food. Read on to see what you can do to control those mid afternoon cravings. Trigger foods If you want to control those cravings there are a few principles you must be aware of. The first is concerning trigger foods. Nutritional research has documented, carbohydrates trigger the brain to crave more carbohydrates, leading to a cycle of carbohydrate eating that becomes hard to control. Trigger foods keep you fat. The goal is to have control over these foods rather than allowing them to have control over you. What do trigger foods look like? Well, they vary from person to person, but typically look like soft drinks, potato chips, corn chips, peanuts, french fries, cheese, pizza, chocolate chip cookies, pretzel, apple pie, candy bar and so on. These are the foods that for many, “once we pop, we can’t stop!”. Isn’t it amazing that all these types of foods are available from take-away places? They are so readily available and have crept into our daily routine without us even planning it to happen. We get hungry, we are busy, we are distracted, and one serve leads to another; and we don’t realise just how much we are eating as the triggering effect takes place in our brains. By eating a small portion of any of the above you can easily consume anywhere from 350 to 1000 calories. Two serves could be 700 to 2000 calories! Most women on a weight loss program are aiming for between 1200-1400 calories a day, so you can see that one snack can seriously sabotage your plans. Does this sound like you? I can hear the deep sighs of regret and frustration! Don’t worry, there are answers for you. You can be empowered to take control when you know how to avoid the nutritional set up that will drive you towards trigger foods. Here are a few simple principles that will deal a wounding blow to the late afternoon “snack monster”. Five steps to avoid carbohydrate cravings: 1. Incorporate protein in to your breakfast AND lunch. Protein is key to controlling carbohydrate cravings. The RDA of protein for women is 60 grams a day. For women wanting to lose weight, health professionals recommend approximately 100 grams of protein daily. Why? One of the principle advantages of protein is that it creates a feeling of fullness and satisfaction in the body that makes overeating much less likely. Source your protein from ultra lean sources so you don’t pick up unwanted calories and saturated fats. Even better, than providing a sense of sustained fullness, protein can block the triggering effect that carbohydrates can have on the brain. If you eat protein with a carbohydrate it will reduce the cravings caused by eating the carbohydrate. 2. Never skip meals. Research has shown that people who skip meals are more prone to obesity than those who regularly eat 3 meals a day. In fact, people who space their daily food requirements by making appropriate use of healthy snacks do even better. Why is this? When you skip meals you are more likely to get hungry and fill up on easily obtained fast foods which are often trigger foods. 3. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water throughout the day. For some people sugar laden soft drinks are a trigger food. Make sure you don’t get thirsty in the first place. Water creates a sense of fullness and has a host of other health benefits. 4. Plan the timing of your meals so that you don’t get hungry. Despite having three healthy meals a day, sometimes your work schedule can mean the spacing of those meals still does not guard against the carbohydrate cravings. If you have a long gap between meals, make sure you carry healthy snacks to cover the distance, otherwise hunger will set in 5. Plan your snacks. Plan out your weekly snack schedule with some delicious, healthy snacks. Purchase these with your weekly shopping so that you are fully prepared. If you need to, get up a few minutes earlier in the morning so you have time to prepare and take your snacks to work. Remember, healthy snacks don’t live in a vending machine! You are less likely to get hungry when you have a ready supply of healthy snacks. 6. Carry emergency supplies of nutritional protein bars in your handbag or brief case. When you feel a carbohydrate craving, eat the protein bar instead and wait 30 minutes before acting on the craving. More often than not the craving will pass and you will be in control again. This truly works! Incorporate these principles into your daily routine and you could be well underway to change your life and be able to take control over the mid afternoon ‘snack attacks’. It is Still Possible to be Upwardly Mobile in America!

By Jo Ann Kirby Yes, its still possible to be upwardly mobile in America: its called a career in sales. Sales jobs come in all shapes and sizes. From the lowest telemarketer to the global strategic accounts managers, sales is what makes a company successful. Today, the need to find sustaining careers is a hot topic for everyone in the labor force. Yet, every business owner I know is constantly lamenting the lack of good, effective salespeople. What makes people unwilling to go into sales? How can we show people that with a drive and determination to succeed, sales is the surest way to a comfortable lifestyle and beyond? First, take the fear out of a sales job. Many people dont want sales because they are afraid that the first time they dont make quota they will be fired. Yet there are many companies that are willing to help you acheive your goals, as well as outside resources to help you learn. People generally yearn for some sort of stability in their lives. Look at Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs. The basics of food and shelter must be fulfilled before people can begin to be concerned with higher goals. Look for those companies that are willing to mentor. Sometimes, they may not have the biggest benefits or have the best pay, but they will give you experience. Look at the opportunities that can be learning experiences. Will they allow you the chance to learn and grow? If a company does not have the higher pay scale, is there training and good work conditions? If necessary, are we willing to take a less than ideal situation in order to move up? As potential employees, do we acknowledge that work is more than just showing up? Do we understand that we must be engaged fully use all our mental resources to succeed? Do we understand that it is important to give 110% to our jobs? Do we also understand that change is inevitable and that we must be willing to prepare in advance for it? Do we also understand that the life decisions we make can impact our employment prospects? Sitting in a classroom may not be a favorite activity. We may not understand its relevance to us but if that piece of paper we earn helps us to get a job with a better company we have an obligation to ourselves and our families to put up with it. A fruitful sales career helps both employers and labor. A willingness to learn on the part of labor can lead to be better income for themselves and higher revenues for their company. A starting sales job does not need a college degree; many small companies are more interested in attitude and a willingness to learn. A person could get their fundamentals there, take classes in sales and ultimately move to a company with better opportunities. There are always great opportunities in sales. Often its just a matter of going out and finding them. Jo Ann Kirby is president of KRG Communications Group. Growing Roses

By Steve Valentino It has been proved that roses can be grown successfully in gardens in almost every climatic and ecological condition. People may look after a garden in a variety of colors and various indigenous and hybrid varieties. To make a rose garden at times can prove to be difficult, but people do not have to be an expert to grow them. There are three popular and distinct varieties of roses that people may choose from. In case a garden plot is small, people may decide on miniature rose bushes, which are readily available on the market. These can be grown in flowerpots or in the ground. A garden may contain rose bushes. These are characteristic, as they grow flowers for the most part at the top of the plant. These sizes may vary from a few inches to approximately 6 feet. A garden enthusiast may also select the climbing roses variety, which can be directed around pillars or even mount the walls of a house. It is important to organize a garden bed well in advance of planting. This allows garden soil to settle. An important aspect of rose gardening is pruning. This procedure helps in removing dead parts of a plant and helps to direct the growth of new plants. Pruning helps the plant to grow in an outward facing trend, which gives roses the accurate quantity of circulating air to help it bloom. Although roses grow in most seasons, they are vulnerable to disease in winter, spring rains, heat, and moisture. Frequent rose garden diseases include rusting in which the formation of an orange powder appears. Other diseases include powdery mildew, which is a fungal disease, and black spots, which takes place on the leaves. While caring for a rose garden it is important to water the soil around the rose plant and not the plant itself. A rose bed should be cleaned and trimmed on a routine basis. All trimmings and fallen leaves should be removed from the garden bed. If an unhealthy branch or flower is visible it should be trimmed without delay. Following these simple tips individuals can go a long way to grow a beautiful rose garden. Roses provides detailed information on Roses, Red Roses, Black Roses, Rose Garden and more. Roses is affiliated with Long Stem Red Roses. Close Kept Secrets to Weight Loss Lesson #10

By Tami Close WOW!! Here we are on lesson #10. Hasnt it been an amazing journey over these two months? What you are discovering is all the secrets to your weight loss are within you. Youve always had the power within you to lose it; you just needed to discover that you hold that power. As women we feel we need to manage the Universe and thats a huge responsibility. When this happens, we take care of everyones needs first and then leave us to the last and lose our power. We find we run on empty most of the time and then wonder why we struggle with weight. Who are we really mad at? Us! When I did some introspection work when I got sick years ago, I was really mad at me. I was struggling with my marriage and I kept blaming my husband. Then God kept sending me messages, Tami, this is about you and learning about you. I was having some heart to heart conversations with God telling Him that it wasnt about meit was my husband. I felt like a little kid with my fingers in my ears telling God, Neener, Neener, Neener. Youre not the boss of me! And then running away. God, in His gentle, loving way kept insisting that I needed to work on myself. I finally listened! I can be pretty stubborn. Can you relate to this? Then I had the AHA moment. I was giving away my power by having to please others. WOW! What a revelation! Whenever I have a moment where my power wants to sneak out, I just get a rope out and lasso it and shout, Oh, no you dont! You come on back to momma! I just recently watched The Divine Secrets of the Ya Yas for the second time. This movie depicts what can manifest when we hold on to our stuff and give away our power. It affects us and those around with whom we come in contact for generations. This movie also demonstrates the power of sisterhood and provides a lot of humor and bonding that can take place.. With this in mind, were going to do a little Ya Ya lesson. Ready Ya Yas?? I cant hear you. Are you ready? Shout it from every cell in your body. I am ready to release my stuff and have some fun. Remember, clothing is optional! After all, youre in the comfort of your own home, embrace your body and tell it that you love it. Before we begin, I need to explain something about chakras. They are spinning circles of energy in your body and govern the endocrine system. With this in mind, they bring your hormones and thus your emotions into balance. Were going to be working with one particular chakrayour power chakra. Take a deep breath in and feel the energy surrounding you as you realize the full power within. Put one hand on your solar plexus, which is located in the area between the belly button and the rib cage. While rubbing your hand counterclockwise over the solar plexus, I want you to do Rapid Eye moving your eyes left to right. Find two points on the wall so you can move your eyes from left to right. Now start up at the ceiling moving the eyes in a zig zag format all the way down to the floor. While moving your eyes, repeat after me: I release the pain, I release the trauma, I release the guilt, I release the anger, I release the sadness, I release all the negative emotions past, present and future. How did that feel? Were going to activate your POWER NOW!! While rubbing your hand clockwise over the solar plexus, continue with the Rapid Eye movements as above and repeat after me: I have my power, I retain my power, I love my power, I am a powerful child of God, I love me forever. How did that feel? Okay, now were going to have some fun. Now that we have our power back, lets do a Ya Ya Power Ceremony. Visualize you, me and everyone who you want to be in a circle of light underneath the stars late at night. The moon is bright and illuminating its full potential. We are going to moon.oopps I mean we are the moon illuminating our full potential. Some day Ill have to tell you about my mooning experiences. We breathe in our power! Were wearing our slinky dresses and swaying our hands up in the air. Darn, we look good! Someone starts drumming and we dance to the beat of the drum while chanting the power song, Ive Got Da Power and You Dont! Keep chanting first softly and then louder and louder until youre screaming it from the depths of your soul. We are the Ya Yas and true Ya Yas always retain their power. It is done now and forever. What a ceremony! Thank you for joining me in the Power Ceremony. God wants us to keep our power. Its His job to manage the Universe so you dont have to. Keep up the GREAT work. You are AWESOME! The Business Approach To Giving

By Terri Wells Have you given today? If so what have you given? Your time? Your Money? Your Possessions? Your hair? Let me commend you for your generosity. I do, however, have another format of giving for I’d like you too think over. You are in the checkout line of your local grocery store, you see a person struggling at the bottom of their purse or pocket for money to pay for food, toiletry, and baby items. Not finding the funds to complete the transaction the person instructs the cashier to put back one or more of the necessities? Which do you do? 1.) Ignore and pretend to not hear or see what was happening? 2.) Politely say to the person or cashier that you would like to pay for all or some of the items the customer was not able to? If you are a person of means I would hope that you would choose option 2. This is most often one of the hardest forms of giving. We as humans would rather give to an organization which is setup to help those in need. Having studied these organizations I have come to realize that it can be quite difficult for the poor to receive from these places. I’ve watched as they have turned away the hungry and clothes less, even recalling one incident in particular. A single mom with 3 small children was informed that she had to fill out an application to SEE IF SHE CAN TAKE FOOD HOME. Needless to say, I was appalled! It was at that point that I lost faith in the food and clothing shelter and pantries of America. I also began to calculate; the workers there are NOT all volunteers and most are paid to help the poor (nothing wrong with that), but I questioned HOW much were they being paid. Where was THAT money coming from. Where else but from the money donated to them by people. I was enlightened! Instead of giving to an organization where those in need will only receive between 60 to 70% (that is after they’ve begged for it). I would have a better investment by giving to the person in the checkout line at 100%! A Better Business Choice! How to Inflate a Balloon Animal by Mouth

By Michael Floyd There are two ways to blow up a balloon. You could use a pump or your lungs. I highly suggest you use a pump. Blowing up a balloon by mouth is very difficult. Why are the thin balloons harder to blow up then the round balloons? Round balloons have an evenly displaced diameter. This means that as the balloon inflates its volume gets greater, thus the pressure is the same through out the balloon. Thin balloons, like pencils, have a much smaller diameter and length to it. This means that the volume is much less than a round balloon while its surface area is about the same. The result is that the pressure of a thin balloon is incredibly stronger. So how do you over come its massive pressure? Is there a trick? The trick to inflating a balloon by mouth is blow really hard. Simple enough? Not really. Its easier said then done. But dont give up hope, there are exercises you can do to help you inflate pencil balloons. Breath in as deep as you can fast as you can and hold it for a few seconds. Exhale much as you can as fast as you can as hold it for a few seconds. Do this repeated for a few minutes or until you get light headed or dizzy. If you get dizzy or light headed your doing it right. Try this a few times a day for a few weeks. If you can go longer and longer before you get light headed then your progressing nicely. Another method is to start out blowing up larger balloons and work your way down. Try blowing up a 350Q and once you can blow it up easily move down to a 260Q. Who know you may also be able to work down to a 160Q. Kind of a twelve step program for balloons. On A Diet? Use a Chef, Not A Dietician, to Prepare Your Meals

By Marty Gallagher There is no way around it. An effective nutritional game plan blends science with taste. Diet food stinks because the foods are bland, repetitive and unimaginative. Either that or they are trans-fatty acid, frozen TV dinner, nightmare meals sold as a healthy alternatives. Frozen diet foods contain more chemicals preservatives than the medical lab at your local hospital. Some people use willpower to overcome taste habits. Most people dont have (or desire) this iron-willed determination and drive for perfection. The iron ruler types tend to dismiss those who cant hang with 24-7-365 helpings of George Foreman-grilled chicken breast, rice and broccoli. (Ad infinitum ad nauseum) Iron Ruler types say You just dont want it bad enough! The sane way to develop an effective performance eating regimen is to get your nutritional science and facts together, then seek out food preparation tips from the worlds great chefs. We want to learn how to inject flavor and variety and imaginative flair into our everyday food preparation. Performance eating is a Purposeful Primitive phrase and could be called, beyond dieting. Dieting is all about calories: performance eating is about nutrients. Calories are certainly a part of the PE equation, but nutrient manipulation is synchronized with cycled weight training and cycled cardio. Get the three elements of the PP fitness triad lined up and moving in the same direction and reap optimal physical results in a minimum timeframe. We need do our own food preparation. To depend on mom or the wife or the girlfriend to make our meals is a major imposition and you lose the element of control. You become dependant on another for results. Besides were not talking rocket science. Assuming you have a propane grill a Weber grill, a stove and a skillet, how easy is it to grill a perfect steak, saut a perfect rainbow trout filet, steam shrimp in beer, hickory smoke a brace of beer can chickens on the Weber grill? These are easy to prepare and they are all diet foods people! So easy to prepare its ridiculous: we all need become miniaturized Iron Chefs. Culinary proficiency is easy! As any celebrity chef worth their kosher salt will tell you, what makes a dish taste great are fresh ingredients. Prepare them minimally. When an ingredient is freshly harvested (animal, fish, fowl, fruit or vegetable) the unique flavor of that ingredient is at its freshest and most vibrant. A top chef knows not to smother, muffle or dilute that unique vibrancy of flavor: just prepare it in such a well that the natural tastes are presented with minimum interference. Stand back and let that incredible flavor shine through! You know how to make a perfect steak? Buy the best meat. Find a butcher shop and get the good stuff. Some experts will coat the meat with a light coating of olive oil; most dont coat the meat with anything. Let the beef sit out on the kitchen counter for three hours before grilling to allow the intracellular fat to soften. Salt and pepper both sides. Throw the steak on a blazing hot grill and let it sit and sear shut on one side. After a minute or two, flip the steak and sear the other side not quite as longthis seals in all the good stuff. Place the seared steak on a cool part of the grill away from flames a let it roast until the meat reaches an internal temperature of 140-degrees for medium rare. How hard is that? Want to roast a perfect chicken? Slather it in olive oil or safflower oil, season it, and stick it in the oven for 45-minutes at 350. Fish fillets? Easy. Vegetables? Easy. The key is obtaining fresh ingredients and having the tools and an arsenal minimalist recipes ready to roll out and useeasy to prepare and all ready to eat inside 15-minutes. Purchase quality cuts of lean beef, seek the freshest fish and shellfish, fowl can be prepared dozens of ways, each tastier than its predecessor and all falling within the acceptable performance eating limitations. Fresh vegetables can be prepared in a myriad of delicious ways. Sautee thin cut vegetables in olive oil or safflower oil, bake sweet potatoes and yams, basmati rice is exotic and acceptable and deliciouson and on it goes. You can eat so many varieties of acceptable diet food that it boggles the mind. There is plenty of room for variety and imagination when it comes to imaginative preparation of what we can and should eat. One night grill filet beef medallions…then the next salmon, pan fried with baby onions and red peppers from the garden…scallops in extra virgin olive oil…beer can roast chicken…hickory smoked turkey…ditto vegetablesroasted, grilled, baked, sauted, steamed or flash fried…I would rather have a chef as my dietary guru than a clinical scientist, a dietician, RN or medical doctor scientist all too often reduce diet strategy to numbers (calories) and neglect any and all reference to the psychological aspects of food control. The most important single factor in successfully dealing with the nutritional leg of the Purposefully Primitive philosophy is psychological: you have to maneuver your psyche into a new perspective: taste can be built into diet foods and therefore there is no reason to eat forbidden foods. Some foods are easily converted into body fat: sweets, saturated fat, alcohol and man-made stuffpasta, pies, cookies, chips, etc. Some foods are virtually impossible for the body to transform into body fat: protein devoid of saturated fat, fibrous carbohydrates. We bias our food selections towards foods hard to transform into fat and shy away from foods that easily find their way to fat storage depots. We eat often. We eat those foods that will be used for energy, used to build muscle or excreted. By eating smaller amount more often you are never hungry and 80% of binges occur when the person is hungry. Since we know exactly what ingredients are in-bounds and out-of-bounds, we know what food types to steer clear of. We dont need a scientist or dietician to tell us what to eat, how much to eat or when to eat it. We know that already. What we really need is someone like Mario or Bobby Flay or Anthony Bourdian to show us a dozen ways to prepare a chicken breast, or how best to prepare a piece of fish and make these dishes so delicious we are totally oblivious to the fact that they are diet foods. I have eaten diet foods so delicious that youre thinking about second helpings within the first two bites. It tastes so good you instinctively glance towards the bowl or pan to see if there are any more left. If there is, you wolf down the piece on your plate. If there is no more, you slow down to a snails pace and savor every biteTop culinary experts can show us how to best assemble the approved ingredients. Id rather eat 500-calories of an outstanding dish than 500-calories of bland prison gruel. If my divine portion is slightly smaller than its bland-0 opponent, Ill take quality over quantity every single time. Politics and Christianity

By Anthony Smith Revelation 20:1-20:10 Politics and Christianity – there has been many an article about this past election. Some, praising Christians and some condemning them. As for me being a Minister, Im disappointed in both sides. Politics have no place in the Church. Jesus would not have voted for neither. 2Ti 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. Our war is with the spirit and not with the flesh. God ordains the Powers that be. Vote, but dont get involved in all the rhetoric, the damage has been done, its time to repair it. Our missions as Christians: 1. Worship God. 2. Preach the Gospel. 3. Be instant in season and out of Season 4. Seek out the Lost If the Church just did as our Lord commanded, it would not have brought this hate toward Christians. Politicians speak of peace in the Middle East, but the Christian community should know better. Look at God’s prophecy for the Middle East. Rev 20:1-10 Rev 20:1-10 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were behead-ed for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Let me ask a question now that youve heard these passages from Revelations. Do you really believe that John in the Revelation of Jesus Christ to the Church is True? How many says yes? Raise your hands. Then how can we believe any politician that says that there is going to be peace in the Middle East? John said in just these few passages that And I saw, John was stating facts, a future presentation of war and destruction in the Middle East. 1.And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2. And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them. 3. I saw the souls of them that were be-headed for the witness of Jesus. I had a brother, the other day; tell me that He doesnt read prophecy because He cant do anything about it. This is a common mistake that many Christians make. Prophecy is as important as the rest of Scripture. Warning after warning from Christ about the impending destruction of the enemies of Israel, and still many want to ignore the facts of the Bible. Many churches will not even acknowledge that the Book of Revelations is for our time. Many clame that the Book of Revelations has been fulfilled. Paul even warned us not to be deceived by any means. 2Th 2:1-4 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. We as Christians from time to time make mistakes and as Paul states many time and even Our Lord Jesus stated, none of us are perfect only God Himself is perfect. Let us learn from our mistakes and go out into the world and proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. Time is running out and we all must be about our Fathers business. Luke 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. Our Lord commands us, to seek out the Lost for Gods Kingdom, and Brothers and Sisters that is a fulltime job. 2Co 7:8 For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season. Let us now all, be about our Fathers business and start repairing the damage that has been done, learn from mistakes, repent, bear the burden and go on. James 5:8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. Lift up you eyes Children, Our Repentance Draweth nigh. Here is an artical that was posted in a local paper, I thought it reflects the trend among Christians; Politics shouldnt be preached at church. In response to condolences to Democrats of Nov. 5, 2004, my condolences now go out to your church, or maybe I should say lack of churches. I have lived a rather long life as men go. I have never heard as much perverted gospel coming from pulpits. Many have taken the grace of God and turned it into a Republican campaign gathering. When anything is preached other than the gospel from the pulpit, it becomes a cult. When anyone is preached except Jesus Christ, he becomes the anti-Christ. (The word anti in this case means instead of — in place of.) Read I John 2:18. “To all those prophets of Baal, it will be a terrible day when you stand before the great white throne for judgment.” There is nothing wrong with voting for any candidate of your choice. More than one million American servicemen have died in combat so you could have that privilege. Jesus Christ died for all. I Timothy 4:10 — to suggest that God favors the rich over the poor or the whites over the blacks or any other discriminatory idea is pure blasphemy. If you have heard politics preached from your pulpit, I would strongly advise you to change preachers or churches because that is not a church of the Living God. Read II Corinthians 11:13-15. Here is a little update; Members of the small Baptist Church say their Pastor led an effort to kick out congregants who didnt support President Bush. Nine members were voted out at a Monday church meeting in this mountain town, about 120 miles west of Charlotte. I hate to see the church suffer like that, she said. God doesnt care whether youre a Republican or a Democrat. It just hurts to see that going on. Get Results: Start with Your Marketing Message and Objective

By Kevin Gold Recently I was talking with a very bright traditional marketer on the value of integrating Internet marketing into an enterprises marketing mix. Personally, I have witnessed significant and measurable increases in the online results of an enterprise when they include traditional marketing strategies like direct mail, radio, television or publicity with their internet marketing strategies. Although he did not disagree with the concept, he re-focused the discussion on the importance of an enterprise establishing their marketing message and objective even BEFORE contemplating their traditional or Internet marketing strategies. What an excellent point! What about you Have you created a clear and concise marketing message? Have you defined your customer benefits and integrated them into your message? Have you established a measurable objective to determine your success by? Your Marketing Objective Defines Your Results Business owners and marketers have a tendency to think in broad terms about their marketing objective by focusing on ones such as generating traffic or designing a website. Instead, the effectiveness of their internet marketing strategies should be driven by specific marketing objectives established from the end result required of the business to be economically sustainable. For example, generating traffic is not directly tied to a financial objective like generating a cost per sale of $75. The common misperception of traffic equals sales has wasted tremendous amounts of business capital on poor quality website traffic. In addition some businesses have developed negative attitudes towards Internet marketing by falsely associating poor results to it instead of to a lack of an objective. Recently a new client described his horror story of spending a significant part of his budget on contracting with a paid search service provider. The resulting paid search campaign was a major failure in terms of satisfying the client managements net profit objective. Actually, to be precise, the campaign caused a massive negative net profit. After asking further questions to understand why the situation occurred, I discovered that the blame could not be attributed to the service providers failure to perform but instead to the clients failure to define the correct marketing objective. The client contracted with the service provider under an objective of generating traffic versus generating a positive net profit. The goal of generating a positive net profit involves a more strategic performance-centered setup and management of a paid search campaign which this particular service provider was not capable of delivering through their business model. Unfortunately, directed by the clients defined objective, the service provider delivered massive volumes of paid search visitor traffic which failed to satisfy the clients non-communicated but expected increase in positive net profit. Your Marketing Objective is the Balance between Determining Success and Failure. By defining a measurable objective, an internet marketing strategy is regulated by the resulting increase or decrease of it. From this perspective, a simple yes/no decision is made as to the success of a particular strategy: Yes it achieved the marketing objective and should be maximized; or No it fell short of achieving the marketing objective and should be dropped or the message adjusted and tested again. Without a measurable objective, the success of an internet marketing strategy is determined by subjective means versus real data. A Clear and Concise Marketing Message Ensures Achievement of Your Objective The marketing message is essential for generating performance from your Internet marketing strategy. Rather on your website, landing page, or paid search ad, the message attracts visitor attention, qualifies the type of visitor and persuades the visitor to complete your defined marketing objective. An excellent book written by Doug Hall titled, Jump Start Your Business Brain outlines three essential components every effective marketing message should include. They are: 1. Overt Benefit: answers the customer-centric question of whats in it for me? 2. Reason to Believe: what persuasive credibility shows that you will do as you promise? 3. Dramatic Difference: what is your uniqueness to the customer? The rudimentary knowledge gained from these three essentials is that you must focus on your visitor and answer their buying questions. By satisfying your visitors needs in a manner that persuades them to buy, they will correspondingly satisfy your needs. Are You Satisfying Your Visitors Needs? An easy way to assess whether your marketing message is even capable of satisfying your visitors needs is to count the number of times your website copy states you or yours versus we and us. Although primitive, this exercise will immediately tune you in to where your marketing message is directed. If youre talking more about we then about you then youre focusing on the wrong message. Instead of spending more time on developing a traffic generation strategy, re-focus your time and thinking on developing an effective marketing message with a measurable objective. Ultimately your traffic generation strategy will achieve higher returns and stronger results when you attract the most qualified visitors through an effective marketing message and gain data-driven insight from a measurable objective.
